Colorado Safety breaks his forearm in game against Nebraska

play

LINCOLN, Nebraska – Colorado starting safety Shilo Sanders apparently broke his forearm and will miss the rest of the game against Nebraska, his father and coach Deion Sanders told NBC at halftime.

Shilo Sanders left the game in the first quarter and did not return. He was Colorado’s leading tackler last year and is in his final season of college football after graduating from Jackson State last year and then transferring to Colorado to play for his father.

He is one of two Colorado starters missing from the game against the Cornhuskers, who led 28-0 at halftime.

The other is linebacker Trevor Woods, who was disqualified late in the second quarter after receiving a penalty for targeting.

It was a rough night overall for the Sanders family. Shedeur, the son of fellow quarterback Deion Sanders, was sacked four times in the first half and intercepted once for a seven-yard touchdown return by Nebraska.

“I think he broke his forearm or something, so he’s not going to be in the game at all,” Deion Sanders told NBC at halftime. “But we’ve got to figure something out. We’ve got to go in there and cheer the guys up a little bit.”
