NASCAR’s Xfinity Series comes to The CW

(NewsNation) — The Food City 300, the final race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular season, will be the first race broadcast by NewsNation affiliate The CW, followed by all seven playoff races this year.

Charlotte Motor Speedway President Greg Walter joined NewsNation’s Anna Kooiman on Thursday to provide an insight into what NASCAR fans can expect at the Food City 300 on Sept. 20 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

This year the track is different and has additional and tighter curves, said Walter.

“It’s like a brand new racetrack,” said Walter.

NASCAR driver Sheldon Creed said there will be plenty of exciting competition, especially racing alongside Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Starting in 2025, The CW, NewsNation’s sister network, will be the new home for all NASCAR Xfinity Series races through 2031.

The CW, owned by NewsNation’s parent company Nexstar, broadcasts 33 live NASCAR Xfinity Series races each year, as well as practice and other qualifying events each weekend.
