Vikings’ Aaron Jones has a message for every fantasy football manager

Aaron Jones knows he disappointed fantasy football managers last season, but now he’s wearing the purple and gold of the Minnesota Vikings and is confident he can accomplish big things this season – both in real football and for those who gave him a chance in fantasy football.

“I tell them all, ‘Hey, if I let you down last year, I’m sorry. But this year, if you get me, we’re going to win it all,'” Jones told Fox 9’s Ahmad Hicks earlier this week. “‘Make sure you get me in your leagues.'”

Jones’ ADP (average draft position) across all fantasy platforms this summer was around the fifth round for a 12-team fantasy league. Last year, he was typically a third-round pick in most fantasy league formats, and as recently as 2021, he was considered a consensus first-round pick in fantasy football.

Jones’ drop in draft value is a reflection of his poor 2023 season, in which he managed just 889 yards from scrimmage and a career-low three touchdowns. He missed six games due to hamstring and knee injuries, which prevented him from finding his rhythm until the final four weeks of the regular season, when most fantasy leagues were already in the playoffs.

Even though most fantasy drafts are behind us, Jones is urging fantasy football managers to trust him again. And if you didn’t draft him, Jones recommends trading him up — because if he has his way, there are plenty of fantasy points on the line.
