Rising country artist Marie Wise-Hawkins tied the knot in style, hosting an elegant and romantic wedding reception in Palos Verdes, California.
Marie Wise-Hawkins is a California-based singer-songwriter who is making waves in country music with her distinctive, breezy, coastal sound. She has performed at the prestigious Ryman Auditorium and carved a niche for herself in the genre.
Her latest release, “Somewhere In Mexico,” embodies the beach lifestyle with catchy melodies and moody lyrics. Wise-Hawkins conjures up a tropical escape using acoustic instruments such as guitars, steel drums and horns.

Marie met her future husband Anton in 2014 at the Guitar Center in Woodland Hills, California. Marie felt an immediate connection with Anton, drawn to his loving nature, shared faith and humor. Anton’s support of Marie’s country music career strengthened their bond and led her to realize that she wanted to spend her life with him.
The reception for the June 29 ceremony was held in the Queen’s Salon aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, a historic, retired cruise ship. Inspired by The Great Gatsby And TitanicThe event should embody elegance and sophistication, enriched with a touch of romance.

Marie and Anton tied the knot on June 29, 2024, in a beautiful, elegant and romantic ceremony in Palos Verdes, California. They celebrated their love in an enchanting 1927 church that offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Of course, it was no coincidence that the chapel offered a view of the sea.
“As a country musician with a penchant for beach atmosphere, with sea views at all our wedding venues Was a must,” Marie remembers the choice of location.
Although the theme was reminiscent of the Titanic, the wedding went smoothly.
“We were lucky with the weather and the walk to the altar was like a dream,” Marie remembers. “Anton’s emotional reaction when I spoke to him at the altar was incredibly touching.”
Music played a big role at Marie Wise-Hawkins’ wedding
Marie recognized the profound role music played in their love story and played “How Great Thou Art” during the ceremony as they lit the wedding candles together. Marie also delighted Anton with an original song she co-wrote celebrating their love story. Accompanied during the reception was acclaimed guitarist Adrian Galysh.
“Because music is so important to us, we had a fantastic eight-piece band,” added Marie.

But Marie Wise-Hawkins’ performance wasn’t the only magical moment. “As a fan of magic shows, I surprised our guests with a passing magician during cocktail hour,” explained Marie.
Meanwhile, choosing a honeymoon destination was a breeze for the couple.
What could be more fitting for the singer of “Somewhere in Mexico” than a dream short vacation on the breathtaking coast of Akumal?
“We stayed at Secrets, an adults-only, all-inclusive resort,” Marie recalls. “The highlight of our stay was swimming with sea turtles and stingrays and having a romantic dinner in a tropical paradise.”
Because if you’re going to sing about paradise, you might as well hang out there.
