A shot at the Haymarket after the concert at the Pinnacle Bank Arena

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who opened fire late Thursday night after the end of a concert at the Haymarket in Lincoln.

Captain Duane Winkler told 10/11 that the shots were fired around 11:30 p.m. and a 19-year-old was injured. Winkler said officers found the victim outside the Hyatt Hotel near Canopy and Q Streets. He added that the 19-year-old was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“There is currently no danger to the public,” Winkler said, adding that authorities are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.

Winkler said officers were already spread out in the Haymarket and engaged in traffic control following a concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena. He stated that officers heard the gunshots before they found the victim.

Two concertgoers told 10/11 on the scene that they were leaving the arena with a few other people at the time of the shooting. They said they were led up a flight of stairs by security personnel and told to stay inside the arena. The two added that they stayed inside for about 10 minutes before they were able to leave the PBA.
