The Kansas City Chiefs have invested heavily in the wide receiver position during the 2024 offseason and will see their new pass catchers in action for the first time on Thursday in their game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Newly signed free agent Marquise “Hollywood” Brown will not play against Baltimore after suffering a preseason injury, but sat down with Chiefs Wire for an interview last week to discuss his observations of Kansas City’s newly formed receiver corps.

When asked what Brett Veach, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes expect from their receivers this season, Brown made it clear that it comes down to the fundamentals.

“You’re looking for guys that can get loose, that can make plays after the catch, that can just break away,” Brown explained. “For me, that’s my game. I’m great at that, so that’s where I fit in. I feel like we all break away pretty well and catch the ball and make big plays.”

Last season, the Chiefs’ receivers struggled to do the little things right, and that cost Kansas City a chance at a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Although Brown won’t be able to show fans what he can do against Baltimore on September 5, he’s sure to put on a great performance when he steps on the field and makes his regular season debut after recovering from his recent injury.
