Ravens fans are looking forward to the opening game of the NFL season against the Kansas City Chiefs

BALTIMORE – The Baltimore Ravens are back. The Ravens will travel to the field on Thursday night for the first game of the 2025 NFL season against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fans who stayed in Charm City to watch the game are gearing up for the big night and hoping for a comeback in this AFC Championship rematch.

The Raven’s Flock are hopeful going into their game against the Chiefs, who beat Baltimore by a touchdown at home on Jan. 28. Although this game is personal for fans, they say they are excited that football is back.

“I was on tenterhooks for this game. I can’t wait,” said Baltimore’s Anthony Bass, wearing a Ray Lewis jersey. “I hope they win tonight. I hope they do a lot better than last year. It was heartbreaking.”

This time, the Ravens travel to Arrowhead to kick off the NFL season, but fans say the pain of last season only increases their hopes for this year.

“We’ll take it. We will. They won last time. We’ll win this time. That’s how we always are. We’re good at coming back,” Baltimore City’s Michelle McDaniel said.

“I think we have to rebound from our loss to the Chiefs last year, especially at the end of the season. I think if we start off really strong, especially against the Chiefs, people are going to be really pumped,” Baltimore City’s Lauren Miller said.

This season’s opening game puts the spotlight on Baltimore, something fans say they are proud of.

“We get a bad reputation for everything, but when it comes to our sport, the Orioles and Ravens, we stand together, we stand strong and we stand firm,” said Larry Jackson of Baltimore City.

Fans say they have their sights set on something even bigger this year.

“We can finally silence the doubters and show them what we really have,” McDaniel added.

“Last year they were close without a cigar, but this year we’re going to smoke their cigars,” Bass said.

Even though the game is away, fans are preparing to watch it from home, their favorite bars and restaurants, or even right at M&T Bank Stadium, which has been opened for performances and a viewing party.
