Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has died at the age of 34.

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2013, has died in Georgia, authorities said.

He was 34.

The Fulton County coroner said in a statement that Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta notified its staff of the rapper’s death on Thursday.

The cause and manner of death were not disclosed. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, the coroner said.

The artist, whose real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, had a major hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” This was followed by “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” in 2015.

Rapper Boosie Badazz posted on social media about the death of his friend.

He said the two had “INCREDIBLE MEMORIES TOGETHER AND ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE. #restupquan.”

Boosie Badazz said the two artists had worked together before Rich Homie Quan’s death.

Neither Rich Homie Quan’s family nor his management representatives were available for comment Thursday afternoon.

In 2014, Rich Homie Quan was named to rap magazine XXL’s coveted first freshman class, Variety reported. Other artists named by the magazine include Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign and Kevin Gates.

Variety reported that he has been nominated for several BET and BET Hip Hop Awards throughout his career, including Best New Artist and the People’s Champion Award.

Rich Homie Quan has also collaborated with other notable names in the industry, such as 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Gucci Mane and Trinidad James.
