A Looney Tunes Movie Coming to Theaters — GeekTyrant

We’re getting a new Looney Tunes movie, and it’s coming to theaters! The movie is called The Day the Earth Exploded: A Looney Tunes Moviewhich was first announced in 2021 as part of Warner Bros. Animation’s slate of original animated films for HBO Max and Cartoon Network.

The film was ultimately scrapped by Max and later acquired by GFM Animation in 2022, which will handle worldwide distribution of the first fully animated feature-length Looney Tunes film.

Deadline is now reporting that Ketchup Entertainment has acquired the North American rights to the Looney Tunes movie and will release it in theaters nationwide later this year. We also have a trailer for the film for you.

The Day the Earth Exploded: A Looney Tunes Movie In “Porky Pig” and “Daffy Duck” they play unlikely heroes and Earth’s only hope in the face of the threat of an alien invasion.

“The film unfolds a thrilling Porky & Daffy story the likes of which fans have never seen before: In this buddy comedy of epic proportions, our heroes fight to save the world, delivering all the hilarious gags and vivid imagery that have made the Looney Tunes cult, but on a scale and scope never seen before.”

Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said in a statement: “The day the earth exploded is a historic moment for the Looney Tunes franchise and we are proud to partner with Warner Bros. Animation to bring this film to moviegoers.

“We can’t wait for audiences of all ages to experience one of the smartest animated films in years,” said Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment.”

Fred Hedman of GFM Animation added: “Gareth’s enthusiasm for Warner Bros. Animation’s spectacular Looney adventure convinced us that Ketchup Entertainment was the right partner to release the film in North America.”

“We look forward to continuing to work with the team as they prepare to bring Porky Pig and Daffy Duck to audiences on the big screen.”

Peter Browngardtthe creator of Cartoon Networks Uncle Grandpa and screenwriter and director at Looney Tunes Cartoons directed the film, which premiered at the Annecy Animation Festival in June.

Browngardt also co-wrote the film with Alex Kirwan (Looney Tunes cartoons) and Kevin Costello (The Tom and Jerry Film).
