7UP Confirms Shirley Temple Flavor in Cans, Bottles “Coming Soon”

A carbonated soft drink inspired by a classic mocktail is set to hit stores next month.

Rumors about the possible release of a Shirley Temple 7UP flavor have been circulating online in recent days after food influencers posted on social media and reports from various media outlets, including Delish, about the new drink.

And the majority of people were excited to get their hands on the rumored new drink from the start, expressing their excitement in the comments section.

“Yasss! However, I have been calling Cherry 7up Shirley Temple for decades,” one user wrote.

7UP confirmed the news days later, telling USA TODAY in a statement that “our favorite nostalgic cocktail will be launching in a convenient, ready-to-drink version just in time for the holidays.” The statement also clarified that 7UP Shirley Temple only will be available at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

“We are pleased to confirm that 7UP® Shirley Temple is on the way,” said a statement from Andrew Springate, chief marketing officer at Keurig Dr. Pepper. “A festive addition to the holiday season, 7UP® Shirley Temple is a refreshing twist on the beloved classic with vibrant pomegranate and cherry flavors and a hint of citrus in every sip.”

7UP’s version of the Shirley Temple, a classic mocktail made with a carbonated drink, grenadine syrup, lime juice and maraschino cherries, will be available in a 12-pack or 2-liter bottles. Sugar-free options are also available for purchase.

The mocktail-inspired drink will be available for purchase from October 15, 2024 to December 31, 2024, according to 7UP.

“Delicious in its own right, 7UP Shirley Temple is the perfect addition to your holiday party beverage offering and is sure to be a crowd favorite,” the statement said. “And it’s a fun fact that the 7UP Shirley Temple is inspired by the #1 most visited drink recipe on 7UP.com, cementing its status as a beloved classic for 7UP fans.”
