The Camden family, made famous by the ’90s series “7th Heaven,” has grown up again and launched a podcast in which they will feature episodes of the hit series.

But the show’s child stars – Beverley Mitchell (Lucy Camden), David Gallagher (Simon Camden) and Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie Camden) – admitted they would be remiss if they didn’t address a major stain on the show’s reputation: you TV dad Stephen Collins, who played a Protestant priest in the series, confessed to sexually abusing three female minors in 2014.

He subsequently left Hollywood and reruns of the show were pulled from syndication.

“We think it’s important that we say something about Stephen Collins,” Mitchell said on her Catching Up With The Camdens podcast before the cast watched and reacted to old episodes for the first time. Mitchell, who played Collins’ second eldest daughter on the show (his eldest was Jessica Biel), was 15 in the first season.

“Any form of abuse, sexual abuse of any kind, is inexcusable,” said Gallagher, who was 11 when filming began. “And victims of abuse must be shown compassion. And they should be given support.”

“When we rewatch these episodes, it’s impossible not to talk about Stephen,” continued Rosman, who played the baby of the family for most of the series. She was seven years old when the series began filming.

“Because he was such a big part of the show and our lives. But we want to be clear that we have not had any inappropriate experiences with Stephen.”

Mitchell also confirmed that Collins would not be invited to participate in the podcast. “And we do not excuse or condone his behavior,” she emphasized. “I mean, our hope for this podcast is to reconnect with you, our fans. To revive some 90s nostalgia and share our fondest memories of the ‘7th. “Heaven to share.”

Gallagher acknowledged that the topic of conversation was inherently troubling.

“And we know that this is difficult, and we understand that it can be triggering,” he said. “But we just want to say we love you. And we are so grateful for all the love and support you, our community, have shown us. Hopefully you’ll stay loyal to us.”

After damning voice recordings of Collins were leaked in 2014, the actor was forced to own up to his behavior.

“Forty years ago I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret,” Collins told People magazine in 2014, admitting to three counts of misconduct with underage women between 1973 and 1994. “7th Heaven” aired on The WB from 1996 to 2007.

“I’ve been working to make amends ever since,” he continued. “I decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations released a recording that my then-wife, Faye Grant, made during a confidential marital therapy session in January 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist’s consent or my knowledge or consent.”

“On the recording I described events that took place 20, 32 and 40 years ago,” Collins said. “The release of the recording has led to speculation and innuendo about what I did that go far beyond what actually happened. As difficult as it is, I want people to know the truth.”

Collins admitted at the time that he had “an opportunity” to apologize to one of his victims.

“I apologized and she was extremely accommodating,” he revealed. “But after I learned during the course of my treatment that my direct manner in addressing such matters could actually make things worse for her and reopen old wounds, I did not approach the other two women who said this one is now in her 50s and the other is in her 30s.”

Collins also said he “hasn’t had any impulse to behave like that” in 20 years. The disgraced former actor, now 76, did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
