San Mateo County – Caltrans will continue work to improve the center barrier on US 101 between the San Mateo/Santa Clara County line and Whipple Ave. Caltrans will close a 2.5 mile section of the northbound and southbound Express Lanes (Lane #1) from 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 23 through 5:00 a.m. Monday, August 26. This is the third of nine 55-hour single lane closures planned to complete the barrier improvement and related work. Each closure will include a 2.5 mile section. All work will be performed outside of Express Lane operating hours. An additional lane may be closed at various times during the closures to allow for equipment and materials to be moved around.

During closures, an additional lane may be temporarily closed to facilitate the delivery of equipment and materials.
