3 public events for fans are coming up

Texas Tech football fans will soon have three opportunities to see coaches and/or players at preseason events open to the public. Here’s a look at where you can see Tech coach Joey McGuire and other Red Raiders before the season opener on Aug. 31 against Abilene Christian at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Red Raider Club Opening Luncheon

McGuire and athletic director Kirby Hocutt are the main attractions at the annual event, scheduled for Aug. 22 at the Memorial Civic Center. Members of the football, volleyball, cross country and soccer programs will also participate in the festivities.

Doors open at 11:15 a.m. and the program is scheduled to begin around noon. Before the program begins, the Goin’ Band from Raiderland and the Tech Spirit Squads will perform.

General admission tickets start at $25 and reserved tables are available for $750 at redraiderclub.com/events. For more information, call the Red Raider Club at (806) 742-1196.

Meet the Red Raiders

The Tech football team will host its annual autograph day on August 24 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sports Performance Center just south of Jones AT&T Stadium. Admission is free.

Fans are asked to park in the west parking lot of Jones AT&T Stadium. Due to ongoing construction at the soccer facilities, parking is not available in the east parking lot.

To accommodate all attendees, Tech asks that fans limit themselves to one item per person to be signed. Tech staff will provide complimentary schedule posters at the main entrance of the Sports Performance Center at the race track.
