Austin Bashi entered Dana White’s Contender Series 70 with tremendous hype and possibly left with even more hype.
In front of the UFC leadership, Bashi (13-0) badly defeated last-minute substitute Dorian Ramos (8-3) en route to a rear-naked choke submission after 3:15 minutes in the second round at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Bashi, 22, entered the fight as the Lights Out Championship and Shamrock FC champion, having turned down several UFC opportunities in the past to ensure his readiness for the big show, he and his team told MMA Junkie before the fight.
Ramos, 30, was a last-minute replacement for Sean O’Malley’s protĂ©gĂ© Tommy McMillian, who had pulled out of the fight days earlier due to injury. UFC general manager Dana White consoled Ramos after the fight and said matchmaker Sean Shelby would “take care of him.”
