2026 QB Dayton Raiola talks about his commitment to Nebraska Football

The class of 2026 of Nebraska football players is in full swing, with a familiar family at the helm.

Dayton Raiola, the brother of current Husker quarterback Dylan Raiola, has committed to Nebraska. Dayton is also a quarterback and plays for the same Buford, Georgia team where his brother finished his career. The younger Raiola is 6’1″ and weighs 200 pounds, according to 247Sports. While Dylan is right-handed, Dayton is left-handed.

Dayton announced his commitment on Sunday evening and spoke to HuskerMax about the decision.

“I think I would be making a mistake not going to Nebraska,” Raiola said. “Besides my brother and uncle being there, my sister works there in recruiting now and my dad was an All-American there. The coaching staff at Nebraska has really shown me genuine love and I can feel it every time I go there.”

While Dylan has spoken a lot about the importance of family, Dayton holds similar views in his decision to join the Huskers.

“It’s super important to me that I can get together with my brother and uncle,” the younger Raiola said. “These will be lifelong memories that I will always remember. I mean, how many times can someone play on the same team with their brother and I can do it twice?”

Raiola said NU essentially sent the house with a number of coaches in its

“I really think Uncle Donny (Donovan Raiola), coach (Marcus) Satterfield, coach (Matt) Rhule, coach (Glenn) Thomas and coach (Garret) McGuire have had the biggest impact on this because every time they see me they have a big smile on their face and that means a lot to me,” Raiola said.

For Raiola, the focus is on peer recruitment, just as it was for his older brother less than a year ago.

“I have a few players in mind and I will definitely call up anyone else the coaches suggest as candidates,” said Raiola.

While some prospects commit but continue to visit and leave the door ajar, Raiola says Nebraska has signed him.

“I am 100% committed and dedicated to Big Red Nation, no questions asked,” Raiola said.

In his message to Husker Nation, the Nebraska football team’s newest addition vowed to take himself and his brother to the next level.

“Husker fans, we’ve brought the band back together,” Raiola said. “Dylan and I are going to push each other every day to be our best and we’re going to have fun doing it! GBR!”
