2 seriously injured in motorcycle accident in Killingworth on Route 80

KILLINGWORTH – A Guilford man and woman were thrown from their motorcycles and seriously injured in a collision with a truck on Route 80 Friday, police said.

Connecticut State Police said the 66-year-old man and 58-year-old woman were riding a Harley-Davidson when witnesses said a Toyota Tacoma ran a stop sign and collided with them. The agency said the crash happened around 4:46 p.m. on Roast Meat Hill Road

The 85-year-old Higganum man who was driving the Toyota Tacoma was uninjured, police said, but the two victims on the motorcycle were taken to the hospital.

Police said the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Tacoma when they were thrown from the motorcycle. Police said both motor vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Investigators said they had not yet been able to determine who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the collision.

The collision remains under investigation and “enforcement measures will be taken until further investigations are completed,” state police said.

State Police are asking anyone who witnessed this accident or may have additional information to call Troop F Barracks and speak to Trooper Rennie #441 at 860-399-2100.
