2 seriously injured after car crashes into tree in West Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Two people were seriously injured when the car they were traveling in left the road and struck a tree in West Windsor, police said.

On Tuesday at 3:39 a.m., police received a call about an accident on Lanwin Boulevard in the area of ​​Providence Drive.

When police arrived, they found two people trapped in a Tesla that had crashed into a tree.

West Windsor Ambulance and Fire Departments began rescue operations with assistance from surrounding emergency services.

Both the driver and passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment, police said.

According to the investigation, the car was traveling in the northbound lane of Lanwin Boulevard when it left the road and struck a tree just past the intersection with Providence Drive.

Lanwin Boulevard was closed for six hours during the investigation.
